It is estimated that 20% to 30% of all dogs and cats either have or will develop one form of arthritis or another. This can range from Osteoarthritis to Degenerative Joint Disease to Hip Dysplasia. Of course Arthritis can effect any part of their bodies; like elbow, knee, legs, shoulders, or even spinal arthritis. Remember too, our animal friends have four legs and not two. That makes it much more difficult for them.
None of us wants to be in pain, and when it comes to the pets we love and cherish none of us wants to see them suffer or be in pain. And so, we try to do for them what we do for ourselves. We try to get them the pet health care attention that they need and deserve. More times than not, we tend to rely upon asprin. Yet even asprin can not take away every ache and pain. When that fails, off to the doctors we go.
Often, we take our pets to the veterinarian in an attempt to get them help. The vet can diagnose and then, if we are lucky, he or she can treat our pet dog or cat. In some cases they are successful at diminishing their pain yet more times then not, this requires extensive medical treatments, drugs or the use of steroids that are often costly to owner and pet alike. The best way to avoid meds and steroids for arthritis is to help to keep their joings and tendons flexible. This is why proper diet and daily exercise is so vitally important to the wellbeing of our beagle family of pets. It is also why we choose "Nutro" Lamb and Rice dry food for our beagles because it contains a product called glucosamaine which is known to benefit bone and joints. You can also try a Joint Enhancer like the pet care product shown below. Just click on the image or the title to read more...
