with Pet Care Products from Beagle-Land
Beagle lovers everywhere will agree that it is important to keep their pet beagle or pet dog in a safe and healthy environment. After all, a healthy beagle is a happy beagle.
Choosing a dog bed for your Beagle or family pet can be as simple or complex as you choose to make it. More often than not, it will be your Beagle that makes that decision for you. You know the story. You go out and buy the perfect little dog bed for your Beagle only to find out in a few days that your dog doesn't like it or won't use it. If you have ever come face to face with this situation, you will know how frustrating it can be.
Perhaps the best way of dealing with this kind of situation is to observe your Beagle or family pet to see what they like or do not like. When your Beagle is a puppy, most Beagles tend to like something small and snuggly... something that mimics being by their mother's side and nursing. They may even get used to the warmth their brothers and sisters provided when they were part of a litter. They like to snuggle for added security, for example. If you purchased your new Beagle puppy from kennel or pet shop they will be older than 6 weeks, and yes, used to being inside of a metal cage. That means they are used to smaller confined spaces.
Once you bring your Beagle puppy home, a whole new dynamic begins to unfold. More often than not, your family pet will begin to mimic the behavior and patterns of both you and your family. If you like your own space and your own special time alone, chances are, within a few short weeks puppy will too.
Most Beagles like most other bred of dog have personality traits all their own. Some dogs like to sleep underneath a blanket until their entire body is covered. Others don't want to miss a thing and prefer having their head out in the open where they can see and sniff the air. Some dogs will sleep stretched out, while others like to curl up into a fuzzy ball. And if they are really feeling secure, they will also sleep on their backs with legs and paws raised high up into the air.
When choosing a dog bed, you will need to know if your family pet prefers a hard surface or a soft one. Do they need the security of a flat surface, or do they need to sink down into a cuddly cushion.
Your beagle is unique and so are their preferences. So pay attention to what your dog is attracted to or has an aversion to. Pay attention to the materials your dog bed is made of as well. What looks and feels nice to you, may be annoying to your family pet; and more so, if they have any allergies. On the flip side---If your dog thinks that doggie bed is good enough to eat, chances are it will. It will do you no good to buy a dog bed meant to sleep on, only to find out that Fido likes to chew it apart.
Now, it is not always possible to take your dog with you to try out a bed; and certainly this is not possible when ordering through the Internet. That may mean that some trial and error will take place until you find that perfect bed for your Beagle or pet dog. Experiment with different materials like polyester or theraputic memory foam. You may also consider buying more than one style of bed. Keep one in your bedroom and another in your livingroom or den.
Also, depending upon the bred and size of your dog, one size does not fit all. Best advice here---know what your available space is. Do some planning ahead of time and get an idea of where you will place that doggie bed. Use a ruler if necessary to map out the floor space. Before ordering, pay attention to the manufacturer's dimensions and compare that to your floor space as well as to the size of your dog.
I was watching a documentary a few weeks ago and in it they described the process of recycled materials. At one point, the narrator said that once particles are sorted out, separated and cleaned, some are shipped to companies that make the stuffing that goes into making pet products ad plush toys for children. When I heard that, a lightbulb went off inside my head; and I thought:---No wonder why our pet beagle will chump on some plush doggie toys and preserve others in perfect condition. He is attracted to the smell. A plush toy is just as good as hunting a squirrel or rabbit... And after all, aren't those some of the same materials that go into the production of bedding materials. Chump on that a few seconds and you will realize that sometimes buying that perfect bed for your family pet is going to be hit or miss. Sometimes, it's not the manufacturer or the style that Fido disapproves of, but merely where the materials came from. Bottom line is... It doesn't matter what the label says. All that matters is what Fido says.
